Saint Rose of Lima, patron of embroiderers, gardeners, against vanity, and those dealing with family difficulties. Rose grew up in Peru, wanting to become a nun though her father forbid it. She instead joined the Third Order Dominicans and lived out her vocation in her parents home - working in the family gardens and sewing at night to provide for not only her family but many in need throughout her community.
Her Feast Day is celebrated on August 23.
